
The HongKong International Airport located in Lantau Island. It is colloquially known as Chek Lap Kok Airport, due to the fact that it was built on the island of Chek Lap Kok by land reclamation, and also to distinguish it from the old Hong Kong Airport (Kai Tak).
The Hong Kong International Airport opened for commercial use in 1998, replacing Kai Tak Airport., It is one of the ten big harbor airports in the whole world. Hong Kong is a must stop place for many foreign visitors to the mainland travel cities, such as Shanghai, Xi’an, Beijing, Guilin, and Chengdu, etc. Two biggest airline companies in Hong Kong are Cathay Pacific Airways Limited. and Dragon Airlines Limited.
There is 40 km away from the Hongkong city to the airport. There are three kinds of transportation vehicles between Hong Kong International Airport and Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, New Territories and Lantau, they are: airport express line, airport bus and taxi.
Airport express line:
The earliest running time is 5:50 in the morning and the latest one is 1:15 at night. The train runs every 12 minutes.

Airport bus
There are more than 30 special bus lines between HongKong International Airport and Hongkong city, they all stop at the main hotels in Hong Kong.
Taxi:
The taxi station is outside in the left of the main airport building. The cost will be around 300HK$.
